PROJECT OVERVIEW

The new Fuller Warren Bridge in Jacksonville, Fl. is being constructed across the St. Johns River & part of the I-95 interstate system. The total bridge length is 1.4 miles, which will carry approximately 100,00 vehicles per day.  This massive structure will consist of 52 spans & eight lanes of traffic.

HNTB Corporation designed the bascule main span.

Florida Department of Transportation is the client.

Balfour Beatty Construction Inc. is the Prime contractor.

Parsons Brinckerhoff CS, Inc. provides Construction Inspection Services

Project Update:

April 16, 2000

One section of the new Fuller-Warren Bridge opened to early morning traffic Sunday. 

Northbound I-95 and eastbound Interstate 10 travelers continue to use the old bridge.

Around July 1, I-10 eastbound traffic will shift onto the new bridge. Northbound I-95 drivers will have to wait until summer 2001 to start using the new span. The entire eight-lane bridge is scheduled to be finished in summer 2002.
