PROJECT OVERVIEW

The new bridge, which is currently under construction in Maysville, Kentucky, will be a cable-stayed structure over the Ohio River.  The project was let on Dec. 13, 1996 to Traylor Bros. and will consist of two 12 ft. lanes and two 12 ft. shoulders.  The main span of the bridge will be 1050 ft., 320 m. with a total length of 2420 ft., 737.6 m..  American Consulting Engineers, P.L.C. with Michael Baker Jr., Inc. Consulting Engineers are the design engineers of the steel alternate.  This design utilized steel beams under the bridge deck while the other designs proposed concrete.  Completion of the project is slated for the year 2000.  Check this page for upcoming project updates.
