PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Sailboat Bridge is a replacement to the existing bridge, which was
constructed in 1937 over the Grand Lake O' Cherokees, in Grove,
Oklahoma. The new bridge is a twin, precast segmental bridge with an
over all length of 3,045 ft. The typical span length will be 122 ft.
and will be constructed in the span-by-span erection method. The
bridge will have a vertical clearance of 52 ft., opening the northern end
of the lake to nautical vessels.

PROJECT UPDATE:
February 2nd The first two lanes of the
bridge are open. The estimated completion of last two lanes are
expected to be finished January of 2001 ahead of schedule.
Demolition of the old bridge is slated to start first. Demolition should
be finished by the end of March when the second phase of construction will
begin.
