Millau Viaduct - France

This Cable-Stayed Bridge Project is on schedule to be completed January 2005. (39 month construction contract). This project is being financed privately. This project has the highest bridge piers in world. Thus the title of the Highest Bridge in the World. The tallest will be 240 meters high. Overall height an outstanding 336.4 meters. This project will consist of seven separate cable-stays.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge - Tampa Bay, Florida

In June, 1982, construction began on this 4 mile, 6.4 km. bridge across Tampa Bay, Florida.  The main span cable-stayed structure, with a precast deck superstructure, was designed by Figg & Muller

Talmadge Memorial Bridge - Savannah, Georgia

Completed in 1991 the new Talmadge Memorial cable-stayed bridge replaced the old cantilever truss bridge which had become a danger for large shipping entering the port in Savannah, Georgia.  The new bridge provides 185 ft., 56.4 m. of vertical navigational clearance.

Dames Point Bridge - Jacksonville, Florida

The Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida is 2 miles long and 175 ft height at the main span.  The Dames Point Bridge is the longest concrete cable-stayed bridge in the United States. It was the second cable-stayed bridge to be built in Florida (Tampa Bay's Sunshine Skyway was completed in 1984). It is the only bridge in the United States to feature the harp (parallel) stay arrangement on two vertical planes, a design which rivals suspension bridges for strength and beauty.

Le Pont de Normandie Bridge - Honfleur, France

Completed in 1995, the Le Pont de Normandie is a cable-stayed bridge that connects Honfleur and Le Havre, France.  The main span is 2800 feet long and raises 165 feet above the water level.  The decision to built a cable-stayed bridge instead of a suspension bridge was based on light traffic loads and a lack of good natural ground support for huge suspension anchorages.

Vasco da Gama Bridge - Lisbon, Portugal

The Vasco da Gama Bridge in Lisbon, Portugal is an immense cable-stayed bridge project which took years to plan and design and just 18 months to construct.  The construction time represents a world record for a bridge of this scale.
