Millau Viaduct - France
This Cable-Stayed Bridge Project is on schedule to be completed
January 2005. (39 month construction contract). This project is
being financed privately. This project has the highest bridge
piers in world. Thus the title of the Highest Bridge in the World.
The tallest will be 240 meters high. Overall height an outstanding
336.4 meters. This project will consist of seven separate
cable-stays.
Provencher Twin Bridge Project
The Paired Bridges Project estimated at $68M includes two separate bridges -
one designed primarily for vehicles and commuter cyclists and the other designed
exclusively for pedestrians, cyclists, and recreational users. The vehicular
bridge is a pre-cast, post-tensioned, trapezoidal concrete girder structure. The
pedestrian bridge is a cable-stayed structure.

A new bridge that would
replace the two existing structures. Residents of the area weighted in the
most votes for a bridge design similar to the Dames
Point Bridge which is in
Jacksonville, Florida.
Wuhu
Yangtze River Bridge Project - Anhui Province, China
The Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge is the first phase of the 3 billion yuan Bridge
Project. The bridge in Wuhu, China's east Anhui Province, is scheduled for
completion in March, 2000.
Maysville-Aberdeen
Bridge - Maysville, Kentucky
The new bridge, which is currently under construction in Maysville, Kentucky,
will be a cable-stayed structure over the Ohio River. The project was let
on Dec. 13, 1996 to Traylor Bros. and will consist of two 12 ft. lanes and two
12 ft. shoulders.
San
Mateo-Hayward Bridge - San Mateo, California
After years of planning, work began Monday on a $190 million project to
widen the bridge, including the construction of a new span by late 2002
and the addition of a lane and two emergency shoulders in each direction.
Evans
Crary Bridge - Stuart, Florida
The Evans Crary Bridge will consist of two bridges approximately 909 meters
long, 15 meters long and navigational channel clearance of 65 ft.. Each
bridge will be wide enough to provide two traffic lanes, two emergency lanes, a
bicycle lane, and a pedestrian lane.
Rosario-Victoria Bridge - Parana
River Valley, Argentina
Work started in April 1998, on this $350 million cable-stayed bridge
project. This two-lane roadway system, which includes viaducts, earth
filled sections and a cable-stayed bridge, extends for 59.3 km., 36.8 miles.
Sailboat
Bridge - Grove, Oklahoma
The Sailboat Bridge is a replacement to the existing bridge, which was
constructed in 1937 over the Grand Lake O' Cherokees, in Grove, Oklahoma.
The new bridge is a twin, precast segmental bridge with an over all length of
3,045 ft.
Crooked
River Bridge - Terrebonne, Ore.
In Terrebonne, Oregon the Crooked River Bridge is being constructed adjacent
to the classic Conde McCullock Steel arch bridge. The New bridge spans the
Crooked River Gorge, 300 ft. above the river, with an concrete arch span of 410
ft.

Bridge
A 4,510' cable-stayed, twin tower, bridge project. The bridge spans the Ohio
River and Indiana 66 near Rockport, Indiana, and Owensboro, Kentucky (US 231).
Oresund Bridge - connects Denmark to
Sweden
At 6 am on August 14, 1999 the final
section of the Oresund bridge was placed in position by the floating crane,
"Svanen". Six hours later, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Crown
Prince Frederik of Denmark met on the bridge to mark the fact that Denmark and
Sweden are linked once more - 7,000 years after the Ice Age when they were
landlocked.
Croation Sound Bridge,
Outerbanks, NC
This bridge project when finished will result in the longest bridge in North
Carolina at 5.2 miles. Balfour Beatty Construction, Inc. of Atlanta, GA (A
UK based company) was awarded the contract in April 1998 for $89 million
dollars.
Sidney
Lanier - Brunswick, Ga.
In Brunswick, Georgia a new cable-stayed bridge is being built to replace the
existing Sidney Lanier Bridge. Having the state record for the longest
span, and a deck elevation of 194' above sea level, the new bridge will allow
marine traffic to enter the port of Brunswick.
17th Street Causeway - Ft.
Lauderdale, Fl.
In south Florida the new 17th street causeway bridge is a variable depth
segmental structure which will be constructed by balanced cantilever and
progressive cantilever method. In the center of the bridge, the
counterweight for the bascule will be housed inside of a unique Carina
Pier.
Fuller
Warren Bridge - Jacksonville, Fl.
Jacksonville Florida is the location of a new massive eight lane bridge
structure over the St. Johns River. The structure has 52 spans for a total
length of over 7,500 ft. with four lanes in each direction. The main span
over the shipping channel is 250 ft. with a vertical clearance of 75 ft.
Charles
River Bridge - Boston, Massachusetts
Designed by HNTB, the Charles River Bridge in Boston is an unusual
structure. The 185 ft. width of this bridge makes it the widest of its
kind in the world. The two bridge cable-stayed project is priced at $70
million.
Barangay
Bridges Project -Manila
This project consists of 402 pre-fab
steel bridges. They are being construction in Manila to fight poverty by
providing good infrastructure.
